Signing Up for a Meet

How to Sign Up for a Meet, Start to Finish

You can start from a club's shared open-spots link or from the Meets page after logging in.

1. Create your account

Create an account using your first name, last name, email, password and home club. Both name fields are required, so the roster and grid show who you are. Your REMS number is optional: leave it blank if you don't have it. One login works wherever you volunteer in Deck Plan, subject to each meet's access policy.

If your account is missing a first or last name (for example, an older account that only had a first name), Deck Plan asks you to complete it on a “Complete your name” page before you carry on. It only takes a moment, and you're returned to where you were going.

2. Confirm your email

Follow the confirmation link sent to your login email. You can add qualifications and browse while waiting, but you need to confirm before signing up. If it hasn't arrived, see verification email help.

3. Add qualifications

Tick the qualifications you've completed the clinic for and the support roles you're willing to work. Dates and sign-offs are optional. How qualifications work.

4. Choose a session

Continue to the meet you started from, or find it on Meets. Sign-up access also depends on the meet being open, its closing time and its club access policy.

Some meets let you claim an open role immediately. Others let you request a role for the manager to confirm. Availability meets ask which sessions you can work, with optional preferences, and the manager assigns roles afterward. Check your resulting status in My sign-ups rather than assuming a request is a confirmed assignment.

Read sign-up statuses and cancellation before changing a sign-up.

A shared open-spots link shows the roles still needed at one meet. You can look without an account; creating an account or logging in is the next step when you're ready to sign up.

Use the registration or login link on that page to carry the meet through the account flow. You'll confirm your email and record relevant clinics or support roles before signing up.

Unsure about a link?

Use the Deck Plan address your club normally shares. A help article can't verify who sent a particular message. If an invitation is unexpected, check with the person at your club who handles volunteer sign-ups before using it.

The open-spots list doesn't display volunteers' names. A separately published meet grid may show assigned names. Read the full sign-up walkthrough.
